Do you know how amazing you are? The fact that you are here on this Earth at this time. You were given this life for a reason. It is YOUR life to live, no one else's. To feel completely in ownership of your life. To live it joyfully and without shame or guilt or blame.
Self worth is a birthright. I truly believe this with all my heart. We are born with it and it has nothing to do with ego or arrogance. Self-worth is valuing this life and who you are. That you take up important space here and that you are entitled to feeling SAFE!
Now, I am aware that life isn't always like this. I have lived experience that has led to my ending up in the industries that I am in. So, I know. Life is hard. It tests us to our limits. Some get traumatised and harmed and injured from life events and let's be frank here, by those around us.
Our strong need to be included and involved is deep rooted in our psyche and being. To belong in our community. We are social animals. Other people are important to us and our survival. From birth we need facial expressions and touch to feel loved. Communication as a baby is eye contact, soft warm touch and soft warm voices. If we don't get this then is wires our brain incorrectly. We become 'injured'.
What we inevitably find as we go through life and as we age, is that we are the source of our self-worth. We see through changed self perceptions and through the work we do on ourselves after each life event. Knowing your worth is when you finally come home to the seat of knowing that is within you and that which is your true blueprint that you were born with. A remembering, of sorts. Where your soul remembers that babe in arms and their initial experience of life and their world. No sense of worthlessness.
Many have harsh experiences in childhood that damages their internal dialogue. Whether it is from family and/or at school and other situations. If this is you then I am so so sorry to hear this. However, you are here now. You obviously are seeking answers and direction. You are craving understanding and support.
This is where someone like me comes in. I do what I do because it is my calling. I am driven to help others and I have lived a life that tested me. Yes I am a paid professional, but that doesn't mean I don't care. If you find the right therapist for you then that helps you to find your way out of the maze that has been thrust upon you. Counselling is important as a tool and a service, but also as an investment.
I am not a hard sell. I am not pushing myself onto you. I am trying to illustrate that it is an act of self love getting help. The first step in remembering your SELF WORTH.
Look after yourselves and I shall see you again soon.
Lisa
