A Ramble on my Journey

January 10 2020

Happy new year my friends! I am gearing up for the new year and have had to have a break due to my own health issues which you will be pleased to know I am practicing what I preach. That is, I am eating healthy food, resting, nurturing myself. I am taking a multi-vitamin and exercising. Now I am setting up my business again with the help of NEIS (New Enterprise Incentive Scheme) so that there is a structure.

This blog today won’t be about a specific subject, but more about my journey. If you would like to listen also to my podcasts on my facebook page, Lisa Hodgson Naturopath, you will find snippets of information that may interest you. Especially about women’s health and burn out and adrenal fatigue.

I wanted to let you know a brief explanation of my journey to this point. How I became to be a Naturopath. I started this journey just before the end of 2009. I had wanted to explore helping people the natural way since 2003 when a friend I knew, who was a naturopath, would tell me all about what she did. I loved how knowledgeable she was and how she was helping people using nutrition and herbs.

Fast forward to 2009 and I started researching the industry as by that time I had a computer and the internet. I was a part time mum with my son living partly with me and his dad and I needed a course that I could do online to accommodate my business commitments (I had another business at the time) and being a mum. I found ACNT and can safely say their course was thorough and enjoyable.

I studied and finally qualified in 2018 due to having had a break due to exhaustion and then finding it hard to find clinic placement (my prac to get 400+ hours of work in a clinic as a student). As the course progressed, I fell more and more in love with the industry. As a younger woman I had been a graphic designer, blackboard artist, waitress, kitchen/counterhand, cleaner and many other things. I am a qualified counsellor and so love helping people. So the transition to Naturopathy was a natural one.

I am a mum of a handsome 25 year old young man who is hard working in his job and on his path. I love and teach belly dance. I love gardening, even though I am hopeless at it. My many hobbies are crocheting, knitting, sewing, drawing, cooking and dreadlocking people’s hair. I love animals and have had horses, dogs and cats in my life. I currently have a small staffy cross and three cats. Such blessings.

Well, so now you know more about me. I am dying to know more about you! Please feel free to contact me for a discovery call. I love to chat and find out about people. Truly I do. I am so easy to talk to and many people feel safe and calm when around me. I so look forward to hearing from you. My number is 0404 018 344 or email me at lisahodgson01@bigpond.com. Thankyou for your time.

Lisa
