August 2020
Hello there my friends! I can’t believe its August already!!!! Hope you are all staying safe and looking after your health? Today I wanted to talk about my journey in a nutshell.
As you know my niche is stress, stress management, burnout, adrenal insufficiency, and the gut. I do touch on women’s health too as I am after all a woman. My journey has brought me full circle to dealing with something that even has affected myself. Stress and adrenal ‘fatigue’. Or rather adrenal insufficiency.
I have worked hard all my life and have had a lot of life events that were stressful. I am a mother and a friend and have had partners too in the past. I have juggled two jobs, study, motherhood, being a friend or partner and studied all at the same time several times in my life. I am an A type personality and push myself to the extreme. Sometimes taking work to bed with me such as written material and books to read. I find it hard to switch off my mind and always have my clients in my thoughts constantly in problem solving mode.
Who relates with this? We each are sons, daughters, mothers, fathers, siblings, employees or employers. Life events happen and we just get carried along with them and juggle everything in the process. Trauma happens, accidents, operations and uprooting. Some have financial difficulties or medical issues. We all have a story to tell.
I have been through it all and I can attest that its been pretty hard to put oneself first. However in this current climate the message sent to us loud and clear, is to rest. To take care of our health. But most importantly, become aware of each other and to be kind. To be wise and conscious of what we do. To not be careless or do risky things. Our health is utmost in importance for if we don’t have that we have nothing.
My journey is a long one and even though I at first was focussing on women’s health I found the demand and what I know most is stress and burnout as well as the gut. The client’s I have helped had these issues. The rewarding thing was the fact that they were transformed and converted into believers. They saw that there was something to this naturopathy malarkey.
I have had gut issues (IBS, gastritis, helicobacter and indigestions and malabsorption) all driven by stress and self-neglect. I didn’t have time, or so I thought, to put myself first. I learnt the hard way that was not going to work. So, I have been forced to sleep better hours and to eat healthier. I have lost a lot of weight in the process. I am trying hard not to be so hard on myself and to change my old belief systems.
As you can see I am human and have faults. However, I work so hard to better myself and am driven to help others. My passion is to be of help to those who need it. I want to convey what I have learnt from life as well as the many years of experience and study I have done just to get to this point. So please know that I can help. I know how it feels. Anyway, that’s enough of my ramble for this month. I hope you stay well and safe and I shall see you next month. Bye for now.
